Backwoods Family Farm is owned and operated by the Hinson family in Marshville, NC. We raise our own beef, pork, chicken, and eggs. We strive to offer the best quality and flavorful meat that you will ever eat! We raise Angus and Angus X Simmental cows. Our cows are all pasture raised and grain finished. They are all raised and maintaned following the National BQA (Beef Quality Assurance) standards to insure that our cows are the healthiest they can be. We raise Hertiage Berkshire pigs. All of our pigs are pasture raised and spend their days foraging through the woods. They are fed supplemental locally grown and milled feed. We raise Breese and Red Ranger meat chickens as well as Black Copper Maran, Americana, Rhode Island Red, and other mix breed laying hens. All of our chikens are completly free range but do have access to the barn. They are also fed locally grown and milled feed. None of our animals are ever given any growth hormones or antibiotics. All of our animals are processed at a USDA certified facility insuring that all of our meat is processed and handled properly and safley. We also grow a variety of seasonal produce!
